Senior Placement & Advisory

After we have the necessary information to make an informed decision that is in the best interest of the senior and the family, MALLOY HORIZONS with provide a proposal for services. 

Our proposal for services includes the following options:

  • We do the research on available communities based on location, finances, preferred care, and community amenities. 
  • We provide a list of communities with details that match your preferences.
  • We call and make appointments for the senior and family member(s) to visit the community(s) for a tour and to ask questions. 
  • Once a community has been chosen, we facilitate the contract. 
  • We provide the connection to all services needed for the transition and help manage each service provider.
  • We work with the move-in coordinator to ensure a smooth move.

FEES FOR SERVICE:

The SENIOR PLACEMENT AND ADVISORY retainer fee* is $500.00 and is refundable with a few exceptions (See **). The remainder of our fee for placement, in most cases, is paid directly by the senior community. Thus, generally, this service is FREE to the client/responsible party. Please see below the following important Fee for Placement disclosure: 

Fee for Placement DISCLOSURE:

In the rare case where the chosen community does not pay senior transition referral fees per their policy or for any other reason(s), we charge a placement fee of $4,000 for our services. The client/responsible party is billed, and payment is due on the day we contract with the chosen community. In addition, travel beyond 50 miles to provide services for placement will include mileage fees at the Federal standard rate. 

**The retainer fee is refundable with the following exceptions: We will retain the $500.00 retainer fee if the contract with the Community is not fulfilled or cancelled, such as having a change of heart, death of the Senior, illness that prevents the transition, financial reasons of any kind, change of plans, or for any reason where the Senior is not placed at a community.

Senior Move Management

Our proposal for Move Management services menu includes the following:

  • Help to decide what furniture will move with them to the new location based on the room specs and décor and based on what is allowed at the community. 
  • Selected furniture will be noted, and we provide moving tags to tag the selected pieces of furniture that will move with the senior.
  • We hire a moving company (separate fee for moving services). 
  • We manage the furniture move between the home and the community. 
  • We ensure the moving company places the furniture where requested inside the new apartment. 
  • We communicate frequently with the community’s move-in coordinator.
  • Have flowers and/or balloons delivered if allowed by the community.
  • Communicate with the senior, family member(s), and staff after arrival.

FEES FOR SERVICE:

SENIOR MOVE MANAGEMENT services are included in our Senior Placement and Advisory Services. 

Please note that fees charged by other professional services such as a moving company or cleaning service are paid by the client/responsible party on the day of service; In other words, before the moving truck leaves the house or once the cleaner has finished cleaning the house.

All professional services will be managed to the best of our ability and their invoice(s) provided to the client/responsible party for payment. Malloy Horizons is not responsible for payment of any outside professional services.

Real Estate Advisory

The REAL ESTATE ADVISORY SERVICE is contracted with a local real estate agent if the in-house Realtor is not available. Real estate agents are paid by commission and will require a separate Real Estate Broker Agreement and Contract for service to sell the home. The commission will be paid out of the proceeds of the sale thus no retainer fees are collected. The Broker we use is Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, a nationwide Real Estate service provider.

Senior Move Management with Full Concierge

*Tailored Concierge services are for clients that require Malloy Horizons to manage the move process from start to finish with the utmost care. Concierge service may be useful when family is not available to help with the transition. Some of the services include helping the senior pack personal belongings, assisting the senior to choose the furniture to move and accompanying the senior to the new facility.

Our concierge (al la cart) services menu includes:

  • Travel to the senior’s home that is located anywhere in the USA.
  • Coordinate with professionals (Medical, Movers, Packers, Transportation, etc.)
  • Assist with home utility or service transfers or cancelation of services
  • Request the change of address
  • Managing the move and being at the house to oversee the moving process
  • Assist with packing personal items to accompany the senior to the new home
  • Remove food items that will spoil and remove the trash
  • Be available to answer any questions
  • Provide emotional and professional support
  • Ensure the property is secure and locked at time of transition
  • Travel to the community with the senior
  • Work with the community’s move-in coordinator
  • Be present for the arrival of both the moving van and the senior (if arriving separately) 
  • We provide flowers and balloons, if allowed by the community, to all new arrivals to help them feel welcome
  • Assist the senior to unpack and get settled
  • Help to set up personal belongings and decorate as needed
  • Introduce the senior to staff
  • Ensure senior has food and water in the new apartment
  • We stay as long as we can and make sure they are fed, hydrated and warm
  • We encourage contacting family
  • We take pictures and share them with the family
  • Return house keys
  • Other services as needed and agreed upon.

FEES FOR SERVICE:

The SENIOR MOVE MANAGEMENT with FULL CONCIEIRGE SERVICE retainer fee is $3,000. All travel expenses such as plane, train, mileage, hotel or rental car fees will be billed to the client separately. The advisor is paid $2,000 per day for travel services and paid by the client on the day the senior is transitioned to the new community. Additional 3rd party expenses such as movers, cleaning services and healthcare providers will be paid by the client/responsible party directly to the service company. The total cost range for three days of travel and hands-on services is roughly $10,000 – $15,000.

$500 of the retainer fee is non-refundable. We will refund the balance of the retainer fee of $2,500 if CONCIERGE service is cancelled in writing within 5 (five) days of the services contract signing date (By midnight of the 5th day).

Real Estate Move Management

Our proposal for Real Estate Move Management services includes the following options:

  • Coordinate all aspects of the move. 
  • Selected furniture will be noted and tagged for moves to different locations based on client’s request. 
  • We hire a moving company to pack, if needed, and move items to various locations. (Separate fees for moving services, paid by client). 
  • We hire an estate sale/appraiser company and help to manage the estate sale, if requested.
  • Ensure the household items and furniture not sold are removed and disposed of, if requested.
  • Hire a cleaning company. (Separate fee for cleaning paid by client).
  • We recommend any fixes that could be made to the property, and help to coordinate the work projects.

FEES FOR SERVICE:

The REAL ESTATE MOVE MANAGEMENT retainer fee is $500.00. The Hourly rate is $75/hour. Travel beyond 50 miles will include mileage fees. Malloy Horizons, Move Management hourly rate does not include fees charged by other professional services such as a moving company or cleaning service. All professional fees are paid by the client/responsible party on the day of service; In other words, before the moving truck leaves the house or once the cleaner has finished cleaning the house.
